The University of Utah Asia Campus (CAO: Gregory Cash Hill) announced that it held an Alumni Night event on the 24th of May.

The event was held at the JW Marriott Hotel in Banpo-dong, Seoul, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and was attended by more than 100 people, including Provost Mitzi Montoya, and Gregory Hill, CAO of Utah Asia Campus as well as faculty and staff, including the fourth Korean alum presidents, Yong-gil Sung, Sook-il Kwon, former minister of science and technology, Yong-tae Lee, former chairman of Sambo Computer.

The Alumni Night featured various events, including an introduction to the development of the University of Utah Asia Campus, the presentation of certificates of appreciation, and entertainment to promote socialization among alums.

Mitzi Montoya, Provost of the University of Utah, said, “We will continue to actively support the University of Utah to become a socially impactful institution in both Korea and the United States.”

“We want to promote the excellence of the University of Utah by attracting excellent bio-related departments to the Asia Campus, such as inviting Nobel Prize winner Mario Capecchi to give a special lecture at the 10th anniversary of the University of Utah Asia Campus next year,” said Yong-gil Sung, president of the Korean Alumni Association.

Prior to the alumni event, Provost Mitzi Montoya met with Korean CEOs, including Hee-kyung Min, Vice President of CJ Social Contribution, Ki-Chul Cha, CEO of Inbody, Hwan-Joo Yeo, Vice President of Our Home, and Kang-In Lee, President of Youngpung.
