The University of Utah Asia Campus (CAO: Gregory Cash Hill) marked the start of the Fall 2024 semester with a freshman orientation and welcoming ceremony on Tuesday, August 20th.

The event saw the participation of around 300 attendees, including Gregory Hill, faculty members, students, and parents, all gathering to celebrate the new academic year.

This semester, UAC welcomes over 200 new students, including approximately 90 international students from four countries: the United States, Canada, Mongolia, and the Philippines. Notably, the percentage of international students has reached an all-time high, making up about 40% of the incoming class. Since its establishment in 2014, the University of Utah Asia Campus has steadily grown in both enrollment numbers and the proportion of international students.

Quai Zariah, a student from Utah, USA, shared her excitement: “When I thought about college, I wanted to experience life in a different country. My Learning Abroad Program Manager introduced me to the Asia Campus, so I chose to come to Korea. I’m excited to meet new friends from various backgrounds and to experience campus life here.”

Tiffany Chen from New York, who is expected to major in Psychology at the UAC, added, “I have some Korean friends who recommended visiting the country because life here is so fun. I’m also a huge K-Pop fan, so can’t wait to see what’s to come.”

Gregory Hill expressed his enthusiasm: “As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, the growing interest from both domestic and international students is a testament to our success. I encourage our incoming students to fully embrace the innovative curriculum and vibrant campus life at UAC, which truly reflects the dynamic spirit of the University of Utah. We look forward to continuing this journey of excellence together.”
