Focused on the intersection of business and technology, the Information Systems (IS) major provides tools and training that differentiate business graduates in today’s technology market.
A bachelor’s in IS integrates business concepts and technology skills. Graduates go on to work in a variety of fields, including cyber security, business intelligence, analytics, database administration, systems architecture, and more.

From cyber security to business intelligence, the Information Systems major prepares students for today’s changing world. Information Systems also offers a minor, which is a great addition to any Eccles major. The IS program offers several hands-on opportunities, such as the annual Domo Hackathon, Game Day Analytics Challenge, and Adobe Social Impact Challenge.

Graduates of our program work in a variety of fields, including cyber security, business intelligence, analytics, project management, network and database administration, and systems architecture.
From IT specialists to systems administrators, students graduating with an undergraduate degree in IS can expect an average starting salary of $63,531 and will have a competitive edge over other students in securing a job as the graduates in IS have a job placement rate of 92%.
Minor - Information Systems, in Italy and Spain
In Spring 2024, students can earn a full Minor in Information Systems (13 credits) while studying in Rome, Italy and Barcelona, Spain. The Information Systems minor teaches students to use technology in bridging all functional areas of an organization in today’s highly competitive business environment. This minor is open to all other majors besides the Business major in the U Asia Campus.
