“What motivated me to pursue a career in communication was my early fascination with entertainment and media. From a young age, I knew television would play a large role in my life. I initially started in the technical and engineering aspects of media but soon found myself drawn to the conceptual and teaching sides of communication. This shift allowed me to explore a broader spectrum within the field and has kept my passion alive over the years. The constant evolution of communication makes it an exciting and dynamic area to work in.
Reflecting on the past decade, the Utah Asia Campus’s 10th anniversary is a significant milestone. When we started, we were a small, pioneering campus with limited resources. There were many challenges, but we also had a strong sense of community and purpose. Over the years, we’ve grown into a well-established institution with strong connections to Utah, Asia, and beyond. It’s been rewarding to witness this transformation and to be part of a community committed to providing a unique educational experience.
As we continue to grow, I’m excited about the potential for more connectivity and global engagement. Our students and faculty are increasingly involved in international collaborations, and the more people experience what UAC has to offer, the better global citizens we can become. It’s this exchange of ideas and cultures that enriches our campus and prepares our students for the diverse and interconnected world they will enter.
My message to students, alumni, and future generations is to seize every opportunity that comes your way. We began with a pioneering spirit, and that spirit of exploration and innovation should continue to guide us forward. Whether you’re just starting your journey or looking back on your time here, remember that the U is a place where you can grow, connect, and make a difference. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved over the past decade, and I look forward to what the future holds for our community.”
