Scholarship Programs at the University of Utah Asia Campus

At the University of Utah Asia Campus, we reward outstanding applicants for their academic excellence, leadership capacity, extracurricular activities, and commitment to community as well as awards and other non-academic factors.

Scholarship Programs for Incoming Students


UAC Entrance Scholarships

At the University of Utah Asia Campus, we reward outstanding applicants for their academic excellence.

Entrance Scholarships awarded to students studying at the University of Utah Asia Campus are applicable for six (6) semesters of full time study. The Entrance Scholarship cannot be applied to the time spent studying at the Salt Lake City campus in the USA.

UAC New Horizon Scholarship


The University of Utah Asia Campus awards the UAC New Horizon Scholarship to students based on: leadership capacity, extracurricular activities, individual talents, ability to contribute to the diversity of the campus, and other external factors.

In order to be considered for the New Horizon Scholarship, students must complete an application and submit two essays. The scholarship is awarded in varying amounts based on the UAC Scholarship Committee’s review.

The UAC New Horizon Scholarship is awarded to students who begin in either the fall or the spring semester and may be awarded to the US and non-US citizens and is applicable for six (6) semesters of full-time study. This Scholarship cannot be applied to the time spent studying at the Salt Lake City campus in the USA.

All applications submitted prior to admission will be reviewed only after the applicant is successfully admitted to the University of Utah Asia Campus.

UAC Opportunity Scholarship


The University of Utah Asia Campus awards the UAC Opportunity Scholarship to students based on demonstrated financial need.

In order to be considered for the Opportunity Scholarship students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)  and submit two essays. The scholarship is awarded in varying amounts based on the UAC Scholarship Committee’s review.

The UAC Opportunity Scholarship is awarded to students who begin in either the fall or the spring semester and may be awarded to US and non-US citizens and is applicable for six (6) semesters of full-time study. This Scholarship cannot be applied to the time spent studying at the Salt Lake City campus in the USA.

Scholarship Programs for Current Students


 

UAC Academic Excellence Scholarship

The UAC Academic Excellence Scholarship is a $1,000 per semester award that recognizes continuing UAC students for outstanding academic achievement. Recipients are selected by the university each semester based on exceptional academic performance.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher.
  • Students are eligible after completing at least 30 total credits, with a minimum of 15 credits earned at UAC.
  • Students returning from the Salt Lake campus for their final semester are eligible for consideration.
  • Salt Lake students participating in learning abroad programs are not eligible for this scholarship.

Award Timeline

  • Scholarships are awarded each semester and finalized by the add/drop deadline.
Inspire Scholarship

The Inspire Scholarship recognizes currently enrolled UAC students who demonstrate strong leadership in and out of the classroom. Recipients serve as positive role models who inspire fellow students to strive for excellence. Scholarships are awarded by the UAC Scholarship Committee based on leadership qualities, academic achievement, individual talents, and financial need. Award amounts range from $1,000 to $10,000.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Undergraduate students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 are eligible to apply.
  • Freshman and transfer students who do not yet have a UAC GPA may apply.
  • Each student may receive only one Inspire Scholarship. Previous recipients are not eligible to reapply.
  • Scholarship funds may be used only while enrolled at UAC.
  • Students may receive the scholarship for up to six (6) semesters of full-time study.

Award Timeline

  • Scholarships are awarded each fall and spring semester and are applied to the following semester.
  • Applications open during the 5th week of the semester and are typically due by the 9th week.
  • Students will be notified by email through their Umail account when applications open.
Scholarships for Students Transitioning to Salt Lake

The University of Utah Asia Campus offers Salt Lake City–Bound Scholarships to support UAC students during their required semesters at the home campus. Scholarship amounts range from $1,000 to $10,000 and are awarded by the UAC Scholarship Committee based on academic achievement, personal qualities, individual talents, and financial need.

General Eligibility Requirements

  • Open to U.S. and non-U.S. citizens.
  • Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Students must apply the semester before their planned transition to the Salt Lake City campus.
  • Scholarship funds may be used only while students are completing their required semesters in Salt Lake City.
  • Students may apply for both scholarships, but are only eligible to receive one award.
  • Awarded students who choose to delay their transition will forfeit their scholarship but may reapply when ready to transition.

General Award Timeline

  • Scholarships are awarded each fall and spring semester and applied to the following two semesters, while students are studying in Salt Lake City (50% of the total amount each semester)
  • Applications open during the 5th week of the semester and are typically due by the 9th week.
  • Students will be notified by email through their Umail account when applications open.
