U Asia Campus Opportunity Scholarship Application
The University of Utah Asia Campus (UAC) Opportunity Scholarship is awarded to incoming students who demonstrate financial need. Scholarship awards are determined based on demonstrated financial need, the applicant's FAFSA (or equivalent financial information, where applicable), and a comprehensive review of the applicant's scholarship essays by the UAC Scholarship Committee.
Awards are granted in varying amounts of up to $8,000 per academic year.
Eligibility
- Available to students beginning their studies at the University of Utah Asia Campus in the Fall or Spring semester.
- Open to both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens.
- The scholarship is renewable for up to six (6) semesters of full-time enrollment, provided all renewal requirements are met.
- This scholarship is valid only at the University of Utah Asia Campus and cannot be transferred to the University of Utah Salt Lake City campus.
How to Apply
The Opportunity Scholarship application is included in the online admissions application. Be sure to complete the scholarship section before submitting your admissions application, as scholarship applications cannot be accepted after submission.

Fill out the FAFSA form and submit online at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa.
Please note that we will only be able to review your scholarship application once your FAFSA form is completed and submitted properly. For more information on how to submit your FAFSA, please visit https://financialaid.utah.edu/.

After submitting the Online Application for the Opportunity Scholarship, you will receive an email with a link to Box within 48 hours after submission of the application. Please read the instructions in the email carefully and upload the below documents to your assigned Box folder:
- FAFSA form
- Certificates of Income (2025) (소득금액증명원) in English, which can be downloaded from Hometax (https://www.hometax.go.kr/)
- If you or your parents did not have income, Statement of Zero Income (무소득사실증명원; 사실증명-신고사실없음) which can be obtained by visiting the district tax office or at Hometax (https://www.hometax.go.kr/). This document can be submitted in Korean.

Please note the Scholarship Committee will only review your application once all required documents are correctly uploaded to your assigned Box folder. If you submit your documents by email, the Committee will not review your application.
