Bio

 

Dr. Minsun Kim is a dedicated educator and researcher specializing in Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language. Her educational motto is, 'There are always people to love in the classroom’. Since 2008, with over 17 years of teaching experience, she has worked with students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds at institutions such as Ewha Womans University(Seoul), Peking University(Beijing), and the University of Utah Asia Campus(Inchon).
At the graduate level, Dr. Kim teaches master’s and doctoral students specializing in Korean language education. Her courses cover key areas such as pragmatics instruction, language teaching practicum, and textbook development, pronunciation instruction, equipping future educators with both theoretical knowledge and practical teaching skills.
In addition to her university teaching, Dr. Kim is actively involved in teacher training programs both in Korea and internationally. In 2024, She invited as a lecturer for the World Korean Educator Conference organized by the King Sejong Institute Foundation under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea. This conference was attended by over 400 Korean language education professionals from 45 countries.
She received her Ph.D. in 2018 with a dissertation on the acquisition of linguistic and non-linguistic politeness devices by Chinese learners of Korean and Koreans' perceptions of them. Her academic interests include pragmatics, politeness strategies in Korean, pronunciation instruction, and the integration of AI and IT in language education. She is committed to using AI and IT in her teaching and publishing on topics of AI and IT applications in language instruction.
