On October 12th, 2024, the University of Utah Asia Campus Career & Internship Development Center proudly hosted the 2024 IGC Career Day, a cross-campus initiative that brought together students from UAC, SUNY Korea, Ghent University, and George Mason University Korea for a full day of career exploration, industry networking, and professional growth.

The day began with a high-energy keynote session titled “How to Stand Out and Get Hired, Without the Competition.” The speaker shared actionable strategies on building a unique personal brand and standing out in today’s competitive job market. Students left the session with a new perspective on how to market their skills and navigate their career journeys with confidence.

Following the keynote, students gathered outdoors for a casual lunch, creating an ideal setting for cross-campus networking. The atmosphere quickly shifted into a more focused mode as students broke out into industry mentoring sessions. Twelve guest speakers from diverse sectors—including accounting, healthcare, IT, aviation, biotech, cosmetics, and hospitality—offered firsthand insights into their professions, shared personal career stories, and answered students’ burning questions.

Each session allowed students to explore various paths and build valuable connections with professionals who could help guide their future steps. The diversity of speakers reflected the dynamic nature of the global job market and helped students gain clarity on the skills and mindset needed for success.

The final session of the day took place in UAC building, U104 Chris Ireland Hall, where participants came together for a reflective closing presentation. Students shared key takeaways and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage with such a wide range of professionals. The event concluded with a fun and engaging lucky draw, sending some lucky winners home with exciting prizes—a perfect end to an energizing and educational day.
