The Resident Advisor (RA) position directly supports the academic and developmental mission of the University. RAs serve to facilitate a cooperative, considerate group living environment and to promote learning in the residence halls. They promote and enforce standards for appropriate behavior in individuals and in communities. RAs are expected to develop a sense of community by initiating and implementing social and educational activities and programs. They serve as information resources about the University of Utah Asia Campus. Resident Advisors are vital members of the Student Affairs team, working with the Student Affairs staff to serve the needs of the student. Most of all, RAs are expected to be people who respect and care about the rights and dignity of all people, who challenge and support growth in themselves and others, and who strive to create a welcoming, positive environment for all residents

 Job Dates:

 2017 Fall Semester: August 21, 2017 – December 15, 2017

2018 Spring Semester: February 19, 2018 – June 15, 2018

 Preference will be given to students who are committing to be at full-time enrolled student at UAC for the 2017-2018 Fall and Spring semesters

 Compensation: $2000 scholarship per semester and Housing is provided

The following cabinet positions are selected by the UACSC President, Vice President, and the advisor and will serve during the 2017-2018 academic year

 Chief of Staff
  1. Shall serve as the communication liaison between the President and Vice President and the Council members.
  2. Shall aid the development of the UACSC leadership initiatives as well as internal programming and workshops.
  • Shall serve as an information resource for the UACSC.
  1. Shall be responsible for taking and distributing minutes of Council meetings.
  2. Shall be responsible for securing appropriate facilities for Council meetings.
  3. Shall submit an end of the year report upon completion of their term.
 Events Director
  1. Shall be in charge of planning and organizing events organized by UACSC.
  2. Shall focus on events that focus on building the UAC community.
  • Shall work in collaboration with appropriate groups on campus.

 Finance Director
  1. Shall serve as chair of the Finance board.
  2. Shall be responsible for organizing and leading budget discussions.
  • Shall be responsible for keeping accurate financial records of UACSC money.

 Public Relations Director
  1. Shall be in charge of publicizing UACSC to UAC in order to gain awareness and recognition.
  2. Shall be in charge of marketing UACSC organized events.

The UAC Peer Mentor Program seeks interested students who would like to be a Peer Mentor for the 2017-2018 academic year.  This is a valuable leadership experience for students as they learn communication, programming, and leadership skills.  Peer Mentors will help first semester students adjust to student life by providing guidance to new students through their transition into college life and help make the most of their UAC experience.  They will serve as orientation leaders during the 2017 Fall and 2018 Spring orientation sessions.

UAC is looking for student intern to provide Fall 2017 incoming student support under the supervision of the Enrollment Coordinator. The person must speak Korean and English fluently, handle a fast paced environment with changing priorities and tasks, and be detailed oriented, flexible and resourceful. The student will work 15 hours per week.

July 3rd, 2017 ~ August 18th, 2017

Compensation: $750.00 per semester

The UAC Student Lounge seeks interested students to serve as Student Lounge Assistants for the 2017-2018 academic year.  This is a valuable community development and leadership experience for any interested student.  Lounge Assistants help to create a sense of community by providing a warm, welcoming and vibrant space that is inviting to all students at the UAC.  Lounge Assistants are responsible for selling snack items, maintaining the lounge space and providing ongoing programming for all UAC students. 

 Job Dates:

Applicants must attend afternoon retreat Thursday August 24

August 24 – December 8

February 26 – June 8

Compensation: $750.00 per semester (expected to work 7 hours a week and attend a weekly 1 hour staff meeting)

Provide marketing and public relations support for the University of Utah Asia Campus (UAC) staff and faculty under the supervision of the PR and Marketing Coordinator

The UAC Operations Department seeks interested students to serve as Operations IT Assistants for the 2017-2018 academic year.  Operations Assistants provide assistance for computer lab support, record events and kid their resolution in loges. Assistants follow-up and update client status and information, as well as assist with troubleshooting.

If selected, IT Assistants will be expected to work at 12-15 hours per week during regular business hours. 

Job Dates: Start date of August 21

Compensation: $1200 per semester

The UAC Operations Department seeks interested students to serve as Operations Student Assistants for the 2017-2018 academic year. Operations Assistants provide assistance for venue preparation for University Events by moving desks, chairs and audio & video equipment etc. both during set up & tear down of events. Assistants’ aid in the moving of office furniture as needed and are responsible for ensuring that all classrooms are in order each day.
If selected, the Operation Assistants will be expected to assist with at least 5 major events throughout the semester and work at least 5 hours per week during regular business hours. In addition Operation Assistants are expected to attend bi-weekly meetings throughout the semester.

Candidates will be evaluated based on their application and an interview.

Compensation: $500 per semester
