Inspire Scholarships

The Inspire Scholarships are awarded to UAC students who demonstrate desirable qualities in and out of theclassroom and inspire fellow UAC students to strive for greatness. Scholarships are awarded based upon the UAC Scholarship Committee’s review of applicants’ submitted material and financial circumstances. The Inspire Scholarship funds can only be used while students are studying at the UAC. Students are eligible to receive the scholarship for up to six (6) semesters of full-time study.

  • UAC Pacesetter $8,000 (1 award recipient)
  • UAC Innovator $4,000 (2 award recipients)
  • UAC Forerunner $1,000 (4 award recipients)
  • UAC Developer $500 (10 award recipients)

Creative Response

You are to respond to ONE of the prompts listed below. In responding, the committee asks that you select a mode of communication that best fits your personality. Rather than submit an essay, we ask that you be creative in your approach. For example, you may provide the selection committee with any of the following: artist rendering (poem, song, sculpture), flipbook, mosaic, art installation, storyboard, video (must be under  10 minutes), etc. Please note that we will not accept a PowerPoint or slideshow presentation.

Your submission must be ORIGINAL work created solely for this application. Do not use material that was submitted for a class. 

  • Aliens have landed on earth, and you are the first person they meet. The aliens are unsure what a human is, and it is up to you to explain what “being a human” means.
  • Other than another person, what inspires you to be a better person?
  • It is five years after the COVID pandemic first impacted the world. What has changed? How and in what ways did the pandemic inspire you and others, to be different?

Submission guidelines vary according to the medium you choose.

  • Artist renderings, flipbooks, mosaics, and storyboards must be submitted to Student Leadership & Involvement Center along with a Submission Form (attached to the scholarship email you received).
  • Videos must be uploaded to YouTube, with link and password advised below.
  • For other submission types, please email [email protected] to make arrangements in advance of the deadline.

 The committee makes scholarship decisions based on the quality of the submission. Please ensure that you take the necessary time and effort to produce a high-quality submission that accurately answers one of the questions listed above.
