·         What do you like most about the UAC?
I love how the professors and the academic systems are set up. The professors are very encouraging and always willing to help. The University of Utah is known for research. I love how the U provides so many resources for research and such strong student support.
I also like the closeness among students and professors. Small number of students may seem like a disadvantage, but I personally believe that it brings a big advantage which is closeness. It helps in getting to know many individuals more closely; in fact, you will know everyone in your semester! Moreover, being able to frequently meet your professors whenever you want to is a great advantage. Not only do they give you academic help, but also they are willing to give emotional help as well. The professors really do care for every individual at UAC.
·         What is one piece of advice you would give to new students?
Although it might seem difficult for new students to get closer to those from other semesters, I would suggest trying to get to know them through Orientation Leaders or other friends you make. Students in other semesters are definitely willing to help new students adjust to life at UAC. So please do not be afraid; they are great people!
·         What do you like to do when you’re not studying?
I love to take naps, watch movies, and spend time with my friends.
·         What’s your favorite spot in Songdo?
My favorite spot in Songdo is the Dream City complex: there are a lot of places to eat, hang out, and find necessities!

Seok Jin Jeong
Major: Psychology. It is my favorite field of study.
Hometown: I regard Mokdong as my hometown. Though I am currently living in Sindorim, most of my childhood memories are placed in Mokdong
·         What do you like most about the UAC?
Having horizontal relationships with faculty members and professors is what I like the most at the UAC. As a student who has attended local Korean schools throughout my life, I had some frustrating experiences regarding authoritative education atmospheres. Fortunately, at the UAC, I have not experienced such frustrations since professors and staff treat me as a friend.
·         What is one piece of advice you would give to new students?
Be engaged! Participate in campus events or club activities as much as you can. Being involved in campus activities would definitely enrich your experience at the UAC.
·         What do you like to do when you’re not studying?
In my free time, I like to watch comedies with snacks. Laughing and eating without thinking about daily hassles greatly relieve my stress.
·         What’s your favorite spot in Songdo?
My favorite spot in Songdo is the quiet space between UAC campus and the dormitory. In that place, I love enjoying the open view and beautiful sky of Songdo, which I can rarely enjoy in Seoul. Moreover, that place is usually quiet, which allows me to listen to the sound of nature, such as the rustle of the leaves. These environments help me relax and feel peaceful, which make me this place as my favorite spot in Songdo.

·         What do you like most about the UAC?:
I really like the atmosphere in my classes as well as the people in UAC. You can talk with random people walking around and they won’t think you are as weird as other places.
·         What do you like to do when you’re not studying?:
Sleeping, and adventuring around Songdo.
·         What’s your favorite spot in Songdo?:
Honestly, I don’t think I can choose one favorite, however, if I had to choose, probably the student lounge. It’s one of the places I can freely hang out with my friends and order delivery food.

I like the UAC’s education system. The Korean and American education systems are different, so studying at the University of Utah Asia Campus is great experience to get used to the American education system.

Please don’t afraid to join clubs! You can make new friends and club activities will make your social life more enjoyable.

·         What do you like most about the UAC?
My favorite thing about the UAC is that the classes are relatively small, so you can get to know everyone in your classes, and make more friends! Also you can communicate and become friendly with your teachers because of the small setting!

·         What is one piece of advice you would give to new students?
One piece of advice I would give to the new students is to communicate more! I know that it is scary to talk to new people, but once you do, you can make more friends, and be even happier at the UAC.

·         What do you like to do when you’re not studying?
When I’m not studying I like to play sports like soccer, and to hang out with my friends at the UAC. Also I like to hang out in the UAC student lounge a lot!

·         What’s your favorite spot in Songdo?
My favorite spot in Songdo is the brand new Triple Street! I like it because there is a lot of stuff to do in the mall, and it is a short walk from the campus!

·         What do you like most about the UAC?
I like that it is a quite small school so you can really get to know the staff and your peers! Honestly it feels like we are one big family. 🙂
·         What is one piece of advice you would give to new students?
Don’t be afraid to go out of your comfort zone! Make new friends and try new things. College is fun, and being open to new things will make all the difference in your college experience.
·         What do you like to do when you’re not studying?
I love to hang out with my friends in Seoul a lot. However, I also like to watch movies! My favorite genre is horror/thriller, Japan makes the best scary movies. My favorite movie is a sci-fi/psychological thriller called Donnie Darko I swear I’ve watched it like more than 10 times, still love it!
·         What’s your favorite spot in Songdo?
Coin JJang in Dream City! It’s a coin noraebang (karaoke room), I love going to karaoke with my friends. and coin noraebang is cheaper – only 500 won for 2 songs!! We love to rap to Mercy by Kanye West and do some High School Musical duets! It’s lit!!!
