Home Country: UAE
How did you first hear about the UAC?
I’d been interested in studying in Korea, and I had a Korean friend in high school who told me about the UAC. It was exciting because they had the major I wanted and the curriculum was in English, it was close enough to home and it was a good price. So everything just fit like a glove.
What are some of the highlights of student life in Songdo?
I actually read an article that said Songdo is based on Dubai, which is where I grew up. So I feel like I’m at home, honestly. Songdo is really beautiful, especially around Central park. It’s the perfect place to go for a walk. It’s still a city with tall buildings, but I think it’s very family oriented, more homey. And I like how it’s very easy to be independent here. The public transport makes everything very accessible.
What would you say to prospective international students who are considering attending the UAC?
I would say to expect the unexpected. A lot of people might come with expectations about what Korea will be like, but the real experience will probably be totally different. This is a place where I’ve built self-confidence and gotten to be more outgoing. There are a lot of opportunities to explore, so take every chance you get.
