The Department of Psychology hosted a booth at Major and Minor Day that provides opportunities for UAC students to explore various majors and minors offered on campus. The event took place on April 16th in U104 during the lunch hour, and all students were welcome to attend.
The booth was managed by PSY peer advisors (PAs), Sieun Shin and Nagyeong Kim, and PSY faculty members. They had posters for a brief introduction to psychology, focusing on future careers, major/minor requirements, available courses, and experiential learning programs, including the Human Factors Certificate. Additionally, there was a small raffle event with basic psychology-related questions to encourage students to learn fun and interesting facts about the field.
Both non-psychology majors and psychology majors visited the booth and gained helpful information tailored to their interests. Psychology major students in particular learned about hands-on learning programs available at UAC, such as research experience courses, internship opportunities, and undergraduate certificate programs. Many students asked about experiential learning opportunities to further build their careers. In particular, the Human Factors Certificate (see attached brochure below) was thoroughly explained to those who showed strong interest.
