Caroline Joung visited UAC for the Psychology Department’s first Alumni Lunch event. It was held on May 12th at noon in U104. The purpose of the event was to hear from Caroline about her career in order to provide inspiration for current Psychology students as future scholars in the field.
Approximately 30 students attended and listened to her talk while enjoying lunch. Caroline shared her journey of applying for a Ph.D. program, including how she became involved in research and discovered her niche. She also talked about her internship experiences in Salt Lake City (SLC) to offer advice on career opportunities in Psychology.
Students showed strong interest in learning how to participate in research and pursue opportunities in SLC. In addition, they asked Caroline how she was able to find the area that sparked her genuine passion.
We hope this event helped the students shape a practical outlook into their future by broadening their perspectives. We plan to continue the series of Alumni Lunch events and motivate our PSY students!
