Darby Fanning is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Writing & Rhetoric Studies, as well as an Associate Librarian at the University of Utah. She graduated from the University of Florida with a BA in English Literature and Russian Language. She received an M.A. in Russian from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ and an M.L.S. from Indiana University in Bloomington.
Darby’s primary areas of research and practice are in the development of university research education and access for language learners. In 2013, she was awarded the Park Fellowship by the University of Utah in order to observe, study and work with Australian university academic libraries for the development of best practices in research libraries that serve international students and scholars.
Darby is a native Floridian, but has lived all over the US, as well in Moscow, Russia and Melbourne, Australia, and is pleased to add Incheon, Korea to that list.
