Studying abroad at Utah Asia Campus offers students opportunities that go beyond the classroom, including the chance to experience real world industries in Korea. As one of the leading countries in the global beauty market, Korea is especially known for its influence on skincare and cosmetics. Through a recent visit to Amorepacific headquarters, students were able to explore the company behind some of the most well-known K-beauty brands while gaining insight into branding, marketing, and the global beauty industry.
The Visit
The tour, organized by the Career & Internship Development Center (CIDC), took place at the Amorepacific World Headquarters in Yongsan, where students were able to experience what a real Korean company environment looks like.
The event included a presentation led by an Amorepacific professional, followed by a Q&A session where students had the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the company and industry.

What We Learned
During the presentation, students learned about the global influence of K-beauty and how it has grown over time. The presentation also covered the history of Amorepacific and how the company has developed into one of the most recognized beauty companies in Korea and worldwide.
Another key topic discussed was the different types of roles within the company. Students were introduced to various marketing positions, along with sales roles and how these departments work together. There was also discussion about current hiring trends and how companies are adapting to changes in the industry.
In addition, the role of AI in the workplace was mentioned, highlighting how technology is beginning to impact marketing, business strategies, and overall operations.

Personal Experience
One of the most interesting parts of the visit was learning about the distinct types of marketing roles within Korean companies. Compared to the United States, where marketing roles can feel more straightforward, there seems to be a wider range of specialized positions in Korea, especially within digital marketing.
It was surprising to see how much of the industry in Korea focuses on digital platforms. From social media to online campaigns, digital marketing plays a significant role in how companies reach consumers. In comparison, marketing in the United States often includes a mix of digital and more traditional methods.
Being able to learn about these differences while inside a real company made the experience feel more real. It gave a better understanding of how marketing works in Korea and what a future career in this field might look like.

Why It Matters
Experiences like this are valuable for students because they provide insight into potential career paths and show how concepts learned in class are applied in real world settings.
For students interested in marketing, business, or working in Korea, opportunities like this help connect academic knowledge to actual industry practices. It also gives students a clearer idea of what skills and experiences may be needed in the future.
Conclusion
Studying abroad is not just about academics, but also about gaining experiences that help prepare for future careers. Visits like the one to Amorepacific allow students to step outside the classroom and explore industries they may want to be part of after graduation.
For those interested in working in Korea, experiences like this are especially valuable, offering a closer look at what working in a Korean company might be like.
