Reconnecting the Global U Community at the 2025 Alumni Night in Seoul

The University of Utah Asia Campus recently hosted the 2025 Alumni Night in Seoul, bringing together alumni, students, faculty, and staff from across Korea and beyond.

Held in conjunction with the 75th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War, the evening offered a meaningful opportunity to reflect on shared history, resilience, and the enduring values of connection and responsibility that unite our global U community.

Ahead of the main event, alumni and guests gathered at the War Memorial of Korea for a commemorative program honoring veterans and remembering the sacrifices that shaped the relationship between Korea and the United States.

This year’s Alumni Night was more than a year-end gathering,” said Gregory Hill, Chief Administrative Officer of the University of Utah Asia Campus. “Marking the 75th anniversary of the Korean War, it was a moment to reflect on the values of connection, responsibility, and global partnership that define the University of Utah.

The evening continued with alumni networking, academic showcases, student performances, and moments that celebrated how the University of Utah community creates impact beyond borders.

It was meaningful to reconnect with fellow alumni, students, and faculty and be reminded of the shared identity we carry as University of Utah graduates,” said Jaini Yoon, Film & Media Arts major, Class of 2019. “Seeing how our individual journeys continue to connect back to the University and to broader communities made the evening especially memorable.

We were also honored to recognize the generosity of alumnus Cha Ki-chul, Founder & CEO of InBody co., LTD, whose ₩100 million (approximately USD $75,000) gift established the Cha Ki-chul Scholarship, supporting 12 Asia Campus students and exemplifying the spirit of giving back.

As we reconnect with alumni around the world, we are reminded that the strength of the University of Utah lies in its people—and in the shared purpose that continues to link our past, present, and future.
