As an applicant to the University of Utah Asia Campus, you will go through the same rigorous application and admissions process as students applying to our Salt Lake City campus. You must submit the same documentation and meet the same standards to be offered admission.

Our admissions decisions are released on a rolling basis—the earlier you apply, the earlier you will hear back from us, and the more competitive you may be for both admission and scholarships.

Students who submit their online application prior to the Priority Application Deadline are given priority scholarship consideration.

Be sure to review the deadlines carefully, and as you move through the admissions process, please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have.

If you have attended another university, you will be considered a transfer applicant. Learn more about the transfer application process.

You can apply online by submitting our online application. (Please note that Internet Explorer can cause compatibility issues. We recommend using Chrome, Firefox, or Safari to complete your application.)

The non-refundable application fee is $65. A $40 late fee will be required after the deadline. Please do not send cash.

Official university transcripts must be submitted from all schools you have attended. Your school(s) may send these by regular mail, or as electronic transcripts via Parchment, National Student Clearinghouse, or Scrip-Safe.All school records should be sent directly from the school attended, or from the Ministry of Education (where applicable). All school records not issued in English must be in the original language and accompanied by a certified English translation.If your school does not send transcripts by mail directly, you may forward your official documents to us in a sealed envelope issued by your school.

If transfer applicants have fewer than 30 transferable credit hours, they must also submit secondary school records, This includes transcripts for secondary school (Gr. 9 - 12).

English Proficiency Score: If you are a non-U.S. citizen who has attended a non-U.S. accredited high school, you are required to submit one of the following English Proficiency Test Scores:

  • iBT/TOEFL: 80 or above
  • EIKEN: minimum score of 1
  • IELTS: 6.5 or above
  • TOEIC: minimum score of 695 or above
  • Cambridge: minimum score of CPE or CAE
  • HKDSE: minimum score of 4 or above
  • GCSE/IGCSE: minimum score of B
  • PTE: minimum score of 54 or above
  • CEFR: minimum score of C1+
  • Password: minimum score of 5 or above

Scores must be less than two years old at the time of admission and should be sent to the University of Utah via the official testing agency. English proficiency waivers are offered to students who satisfy one of our waiver requirements. 

Please note that the above test scores will only be accepted until Spring 2018 Admission. Starting Fall 2018 Admission, we will only accept the following English Proficiency Test Scores until further notice:

  • ACT English score of 18 or higher
  • SAT Reading score of 27 or higher
  • iBT/TOEFL: 80 or above
  • IELTS: 6.5 or above

ACT or SAT: If you are a U.S. citizen or a citizen of an approved English-speaking country you must submit ACT or SAT scores. If you have attended high school in the U.S. or another approved English-speaking country for two and a half or more years, or if your foreign high school is U.S.-accredited, you must submit an ACT or SAT score. ACT and SAT scores must be sent electronically by the testing agency. The University of Utah SAT school code is 4853, and ACT school code is 4274.

Everyone who applies will send us their academic information. Additional information is your chance to stand out! You can submit an essay, letter of recommendation, resume, list of activities, or anything else you want us to see. Be sure to clearly indicate your name and date of birth on your submission.

You can track your application status at https://student.apps.utah.edu/uofu/stu/admission-checklist/. You will receive your official admissions result by email, and admissions decisions typically take 3-4 weeks, but may take longer depending on the time of year and your individual application.
