Jon Huntsman Jr.

Former U.S. Ambassador to China and former governor of Utah

Twice elected as governor of Utah, Jon M. Huntsman was named U.S. ambassador to China in May 2009. In early 2012, he was named to succeed his father, Jon Huntsman, Sr., as chair of the Huntsman Cancer Foundation, which supports the University of Utah’s Huntsman Cancer Institute. Huntsman’s public service career began as a White House staff assistant to President Ronald Reagan and has also included appointments as deputy assistant secretary of commerce for Asia and U.S. ambassador to Singapore. He was recognized with an Honorary Doctorate
